Precarpathian centre of the practical comparative literature. Ihor Kozlyk
Sphere of the interests of the Centre:
The main area of activity of the centre is organization and implementation of a system-defined comparative (mainly in scope of poetics, typology and reception) study of the whole variety of the ties and relations between the Ukrainian and foreign literatures on different stages of development of the national historical and literary process. The leading place in the object of study belongs to the ties between the Ukrainian literature and the literatures of Western Europe (French, English, German, Austrian, and Polish) and the USA.

The school has been founded in 1992 on the basis of the Department of the World Literature of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, when Doctor of Philological Studies V. H. Matviishyn became the head of the department. In the same year the graduate school in comparative literature has been founded in the department.
The most prominent representatives of the school are Doctors of the Philological Studies, Professors V. H. Matvishyn, M. V. Teplinskyy, I. V. Kozlyk, Candidates of the Philological Studies, Associate Professors Yu.I. Sultanov (1948-2003), M. S. Medytska I. V. Devdiuk, S.I. Korshunova, O. M. Tsivkach, N. Ya. Yatskiv and others.
Representatives of the school are actively developing the research concerning the most topical issues of comparative literature. It can be evidenced by the annual edition of the book of articles “Sultanivski Chytannia”, which is included into the list of scientific editions of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The book of articles is registered in the International Centre ISSN and since 2015 it has both online and printed editions. Besides it has its own web-page and works according to the requirements of the international scientometric data bases, namely SCOPUS and Index Copernicus. Representatives of the school also publish the results of their investigations in leading Ukrainian and foreign scientific journals.
