On September 5-7, 2017, the XXVIIth Economic forum took place in Krynica (the Republic of Poland). The Institute of Eastern European Studies was the organizer of the Forum. Lesser Poland Voivodeship was the main partner. About 4000 people from over 60 countries took part in the Forum this year. The chairmen of the governments and the parliamentarians, the representatives of the largest companies, the experts, the representatives of culture and science shared their ideas as to the economic, political and social situation. Lesser Poland Voivodeship invited the Rector of the University, Prof. Ihor Tsependa, to take part in the Forum.

 

Within the limits of the Forum program 6 plenary sessions, over 180 discussion meetings, master-classes and debates, national and regional presentations took place. For three days the members of the Forum had been discussing important questions within the ambit of macroeconomic security, international politics, business and management, public health, new economics, innovations etc. In particular, it should be mentioned that during the meeting concerning scientific collaboration in Carpathian region the members – the University of Warsaw, the University of Prešov, the University of Suceava, Catholic University in Budapest and Precarpathian National University – came to a decision to create "Collegium Carpatikum" with a symbolic residence in the Observatory of Precarpathian National University and the University of Warsaw, located on the peak of Pip Ivan.
