The University has joined the international social project «The Book of Doing Good». Its author and initiator is the Charitable Fund «Pure hearts». During January volunteer students and teachers of English Philology Department have translated into English 50 children’s stories which were included to the book. Today, February 1, 2017, the rector of the University Ihor Tsependa solemnly handed over a copy of «The Book of Good» in English to the project manager, the Honorary Consul of Hungary in Ivano-Frankivsk, Vasyl Vyshyvaniuk.
«We are grateful to the University which is a partner of the project «The Book of Doing Good» and of other joint projects. It is very nice that you help us, because this project is done not only for Ukraine: we want «The Book of Doing Good» could be read in different countries. Thank you for the cooperation and support», said the project manager Vasyl Vyshyvaniuk.
26 students were working on the translation of the book under the control of mentors’ teachers. «These stories are not simple, each has its own destiny. The stories are written not only by children, but also by adults. They are vulnerable, sometimes even witty and they are written from the first person. The stories are extremely interesting and the most important thing is that they are all joint by one main idea – to do good on this land. We know that among us are a lot of people who change this world for the better», said the head of the English Philology Department Yakiv Bystrov.
At present «The Book of Doing Good» is translated into three languages. «The University will continue to support this unique project and in the near future «The Book of Doing Good» will be translated into German and French. «The Book of Doing Good» will be available to read not only in different countries of Europe but also of the world. It is good that our University also contributes to the formation of a positive image of our country», noted the rector of the University Ihor Tsependa.
