On October 14th, on the Motherland Defendants’ Day, the solemn opening of the monument to the Heavenly Hundred Hero Roman Huryk was held in the Memorial Public Garden. The place was chosen deliberately since the young man was buried here.
Roman Huryk was a 2nd-year student of the Philosophy Faculty of our University. He was born on October 2, 1994 in Ivano-Frankivsk and was shot in Kyiv on February 20, 2014 during the Ukrainian Dignity Revolution.
The students of the Philosophy Faculty honoured Roman Huryk, the Hero of Heavenly Hundred who died at EuroMaidan on February 20, 2014. The ceremony was held on October 2, as it was the day of his birth. He could have been 21. The representatives of the administration of the Philosophy Department, teachers, students and employees of the institution gathered near the obelisk which is dedicated to students and teachers who died in the struggle for the independence of Ukraine.
THE FACULTY OF PHILOSOPHY CELEBRATES UKRAINIAN SOCIOLOGIST DAY
The students and professors of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology celebrate the Sociologist Day. October 11th has been the official holiday since 2011. The participants of the holiday were greeted by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, assoc. prof. Maksym Doichyk, the Deputy Dean in educational work, assoc. prof. Liliya Borysevych, the Head of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology, prof. Viktoriya Larionova. The undergraduates held presentations of their academic groups to the freshmen to establish a successful cooperation between those who study sociology for several years and those who are only the beginners in this sphere. The creation of Students’ Sociological Scientific Community was initiated in order to unite young people under the search of new ways to solve topical social problems and establishing contacts with young sociologists’ unions of other Ukrainian high schools.
UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC COUNCIL ADOPTED THE PRINCIPLE OF PLAGIARISM PREVENTION
On September 28, 2015 the Academic Council of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian University adopted the Principle of Plagiarism Prevention and other kinds of academic integrity violation in the scientific and research work of the University students. The adoption of the Principle implements the mechanism of combating cheating, plagiarism and other kinds of academic integrity violation. The informational and explanatory work with the students aims at upbringing of intolerance to academic integrity violation and teaching the students to work with information honestly and responsibly.
