The Department of Folk Instruments And Musical Folklore
The Department of Folk Instruments And Musical Folklore began the professional activity in 2007. The basic task of scientifical-pedagogical staff of the Department is a professional training of qualified specialists for musical-educational industry of Ukraine (teachers of musical disciplines and figures of musical art).
The Department carries out studies after specialities: Musical Pedagogics And Education (qualification is Teacher of Music, Teacher of Musical Instrument), Musical Art, Folk Instruments (qualification is Teacher, Artist of Folk Instruments’ Ensemble or Orchestra). All the specialities have Bachelor, Specialist, and Master level.
Highly qualified teachers of the Department form experience of musical performance; they provide professional preparation of future specialist apt at self-realization, self-perfection of artistical- creative activity. Among them Violetta G. Dutchak – Head of the Department, Doctor of Study of Art, Professor; Vladyslav F. Knyazev – Candidate of Sciences (Study of Art), Associate Professor; Liliya M. Pasichnyak – Candidate of Sciences (Study of Art), Associate Professor; Yuriy S. Feyda – Honoured Worker of Culture of Ukraine, Associate Professor; Petro M. Cholovskyy – Honoured Worker of Culture of Ukraine, Associate Professor; Olga R. Fabryka-Protska – Candidate of Sciences (Study of Art)., Associate Professor; Yuriy M. Hulyanych – Candidate of Sciences (Study of Art), Associate Professor; Bohdan V. Parumba – Senior Teacher; Volodymyr P. Polischuk – Senior Teacher. Next to active scientific activity studies are full of creative inspiration that finds the stage embodiment on different concerts, competitions and festivals.
Students of the Department are laureates and winners of international competitions and festivals.
Specificity of professional preparation is concentrated in students’ and teachers’ performance, which is presented by work of artistic groups: Chapel of Bandura-players (leader V. Dutchak), Orchestra of Folk Instruments (leader V. Polischuk), Orchestra of Bayan-players And Accordionists (leader V. Knyazev), Quartet of Bandura-players "Gerdan"(leader V.Dutchak), Ensemble of Bayan-players (leader V. Knyazev), Ensemble of Guitarists (leader Y. Grebenyuk).
On the department also the known artists worked: Petro Terpelyuk (1941-2012) – violinist-virtuoso and composer, People’s Artist of Ukraine, Professor, and Yuriy Grechko (1952-2011) – instrumentalist-arranger, Associate Professor.
